Haitian Community Outreach
During Dark Days
When Brandon M. Phillips traveled to Mexico and witnessed Haitian families stranded at the border—facing unimaginable hardship with no resources and little hope—he knew he had to act.
What began as an emergency response has grown into an ongoing mission to support Haitian communities wherever they face crisis. We provide emergency supplies, food, medical assistance, and most importantly—dignity and hope.

How It Started
In 2021, thousands of Haitian migrants found themselves stranded at the U.S.-Mexico border in Tijuana. Families with young children were sleeping in the streets, without food, water, or basic necessities. The situation was dire, and the world seemed to have forgotten them.
Brandon M. Phillips couldn't look away. He organized an emergency trip to the border, bringing supplies, food, and a team of volunteers. What he witnessed changed him forever—but more importantly, it brought immediate relief to hundreds of families in desperate need.
"When you see a mother trying to comfort her hungry child with nothing to give, you can't unsee it," Brandon recalls. "We had to do something. We had to be the sunshine during their darkest days."
Since then, FutureThink Hub has continued to support Haitian communities—both at the border and here in Baltimore, where many families have resettled. Our work includes emergency relief, food assistance, help navigating immigration processes, and connecting families with resources to rebuild their lives.
